This weekend we examine rock music that ended the 70s decade and the rock music that began the 80s decade. Artists like Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Van Halen, Molly Hatchet, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Electric Light Orchestra and Kiss to name a few.

For me, it felt like a bit of  difference in the style and sound of the music from the late 70s to the early 80s. The sound of groups like Kiss and the Eagles versus the sound of The Cars and The Police are era different.

We've got hourly double-shots of tunes each hour from 1979 and 1980 throughout the weekend for you, so enjoy the end of the 70s and the beginning of the 80s on 99.1 The Whale.
