Eclectic Rock Pick of the Week: Coheed and Cambria

Coheed and Cambria was formed in 1995 from Nyack, New York. They are known for a broad mix of influences concerning genres such as prog rock, pop, punk, metal and hardcore.

Coheed's albums are all concept albums culminating in one long storyline written by lead singer Claudio Sanchez called The Armory Wars. The story has been made into a comic book series as well as a novel. To date, the band has released seven studio albums and three live albums.

I have personally been a fan of the band since high school/ college years. When I used to play and practice guitar religiously, one of my favorite songs to play was Coheed's "Welcome Home" for some reason. I just loved the intro particularly!

Artistically creative in terms of their whole concept album/ storyline and technically  impressive as well, any musician is sure to appreciate this band's work even if they don't particularly like them.
