Eating Healthy is Easy – Low Fat Tasty Meals – Big Wally Losers Club

One of the things I learned when I lost weight before (134 lbs) was that dieting sucks. If you deprive yourself of certain items, it just makes you want them even more. So….. I came up with a solution that worked for me. It was called substitution.  I try to exchange volume for volume. I discard high caloric and high fat meals for meals that weigh the same, but with a lower fat and calorie count. I know you are saying… Huh? Let me splain…

If you are eating say, a homemade cheeseburger, with french fries in the oven and 1 serving of catsup (which I know you always adhere to). It logs in at 729 calories. (94 carbs, 29 grams of fat and 21 grams of protein.

Now substitute the meal I prepared myself last night. Baked Eggplant with Homemade Ratatouille (that’s a whole bunch of vegetables with tomatoes smooshed together) and broiled chicken. (310 calories, 37 carbs, 5 grams fat, 34 grams of protein) I also added a mad dash of hot sauce to the whole plateful of health to enhance the experience.

This meal gave me half the calories, 1/3 the carbs, 1/5 the fat and more protein. It took the same amount of time to make and I had the same volume of food. And it was TASTY!

 

If you do not know how many calories are in the things you eat, then may I suggest you sign up on ”myfitnesspal.com”.  It has a great food diary which helps you keep track of everything you eat, your exercise, offers nutritional advice, and you can be connected to other ”friends”, just like on Facebook, who are all trying to get healthier too.
