We're getting some very strong vibes that Duff McKagan could be returning to Guns N' Roses. The bassist teased his fans on Twitter earlier today (March 31) in a manner that suggested that he would be joining the group for their South American tour.

If true, McKagan would be filling in for current bassist Tommy Stinson, who is reuniting with his original band, the Replacements, for two high-profile dates at Coachella in mid-April. Although there has been no official confirmation, this tweet from McKagan suggests that his passport is in order.

Based on the order of the countries, it would appear that McKagan will meet up with the group in Buenos Aires for the April 6 show, then play Asuncion, Paraguay (April 9), La Paz, Bolivia (April 12) and two cities in Brazil -- Recife (April 15) and Fortaleza (April 15).

A poster on a Guns N' Roses fan forum says that Vorterix, a Buenos Aires radio station, has confirmed that Duff will be at the Buenos Aires show. There is also this embedded Twitter conversation between McKagan's wife and photographer Katarina Benzova, whose Facebook page lists Guns N' Roses as one of her clients.

Again, there's been no official word, but the pieces fit together rather nicely, don't you think?
