According to Broome County District Attorney Stephen Cornwell, Siddiqui pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, a misdemeanor.

Siddiqui is scheduled to be sentenced by Binghamton City Court Judge William Pelella on August 4.

Cornwell said the charge carries a maximum sentence of up to one year in jail.

Detectives said Lineva was found lying in the eastbound lane of Route 434 near the Pennsylvania Avenue exit shortly after 2 a.m. December 3. She was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.

Investigators determined Lineva had been drinking before she died. Others who had been with her prior to her death have been interviewed by police.

Cornwell said "there are more individuals out there who bear responsibility for this tragedy." The district attorney said attention now "turns to them."
