The New York Knicks bounced back from their opening day loss in Cleveland with a big 111-104 win Saturday against the Grizzlies on opening night at the Garden.

Growing up a Knicks fan, and after many years of falling short of a post season, or a championship,I can appreciate a talented team and this years group looks very good.

I think most of us would just like to see a team that wins more games and stays competitive to give us a shot at a championship, and that starts with making the playoffs.

There are only 5 players from last years Knicks that are on this years roster.

Phil Jacksons free agency deals brought some players with skills in areas we really needed.

In the back court the Knicks signed guards Derrick Rose, Courtney Lee, Brandon Jennings and Justin Holiday.

Forwards Mindaugas Kuzminskas, Maurice N'dour to join Kyle O'Quinn and Lance Thomas.

Centers Joakim Noah, and rookies Marshall Plumlee and Willy Hernangomez.

The Knicks stars Carmelo Anthony (averaging 19.5 points) and last years first round pick Kristaps Porzingis (averaging 18.5 points) have shown what they can do, and continue to deliver impressive stats into this season.

The first game in Cleveland was a rough one, most of these guys had never played together, Derrick Rose missed almost all of the preseason dealing with legal issues, and to make matters seem worse they played against the best team in the league Lebron James and the Cavaliers.

I know its too early to tell where this team will end up, but I think over the next month we will get a feel for the heart of this squad, and how they will measure up to other teams in the Eastern Conference.

Let's Go Knicks!
