The New York Giants finished their season with only 6 wins out of the 16 game season. They lost both contests with Dallas and Philadelphia, and lost games that they should have won, including a 16 -10 loss to the 49ers, and a 25-24 loss to the Jaguars.

I know that we have to consider the long list of injuries that diminished the overall talent, the Giants led the league in most players on injured reserves for the second year in a row. Not to mention this was an offense in complete rebuild starting with the O-line, which lost some pro-bowl starters to retirement.

We didn't make the play-offs again for the 4th straight year, but fans did see some new players develop and give us some special moments including Odell Beckham Jr. who was named Rookie of the Month for December!

I was listening to John Mara giving a speech during the exit interviews for this season, one of the first things he said was that Tom Coughlin is still their man, so if he still wants to coach he will be their next year as well and I think that's a good thing.

I believe Eli Manning can lead this team to another championship, but it's going to take a better effort from other key position. Starting with the offensive line, they need to give Eli more time and create holes for the running backs.

The Big Blue defense is another big problem Defensive End, Jason Pierre Paul, and Safety, Antrel Rolle, will be free agents this year, JPP is a 26, Rolle is 32. I think if you're the Giants, you sign Paul and make an offer to Rolle that you can afford, but given the disappointing performance of the Giants secondary I wouldn't hesitate in letting him go and looking for a younger player in that position. The Giants' defense has to get to the quarterback more, they gave up way too many plays and allowed the opponents QB's to run several times for big play gains.

I do think this team will improve but that's not saying much. They were 7 and 9 last season and 6 and 10 this year, so you would expect them to be better.

To be continued!
