The ultimate collegiate basketball competition is now down to 16 teams. With a few early eliminations, that included number 2 seeds Virginia and Kansas, I thought I'd put in my two cents on who is likely to advance to the next round.

This is not going to be easy because the lowest seed right now is UCLA at number 11.

Number 5, West Virginia will try to upset the best team in the nation, number 1 Kentucky, but it's just not going to happen. Kentucky will advance.

Notre Dame is on an emotional high with they're first Sixteen appearance in over 10 years. However, Wichita State just knocked off a number 2 seed with close game.

Wisconsin knocked off my Ducks, but can they beat a very good North Carolina team? I think NC wins that one.

Xavier versus Arizona, I'll flip a coin and call Arizona my choice.

North Carolina State and Louisville, another tough match up to predict, but I like NC State.

Oklahoma and Michigan State, the odds makers are going with The Sooners and it sounds good to me.

Duke just walloped San Diego State, but their opponent Utah knocked off the Hoyas. It's another close match up, but I'm going with Duke on this one.

UCLA and Gonzaga - The Bruins have been lucky and by all accounts shouldn't even be here. Gonzaga will put them out of their misery.

All in all, Kentucky still looks like the champs!

Can't wait for Thursday! Watch for my next blog following the Sixteen recovered.
