The New York Knicks are not the only NBA team that is finishing up a nightmare season. At 16-64, the Minnesota Timberwolves are tied with the Knicks for the worst record in the league.

Both teams have two games remaining, the Knicks will play the best team in the Eastern Conference, the Atlanta Hawks, tonight before closing out the season at home on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons.

The Timberwolves have the last two games at home - tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans, and Wednesday they'll host the Oklahoma Thunder. Both opponents are 43-36 and are heading to the post season.

If the Knicks and Timberwolves end the season with identical records, there will be a mini lottery to see which team gets the worst position in the NBA lottery.

The worst team will have a 25% chance of getting the number one pick, but that doesn't mean they will actually get the first pick. In fact, statistics show the number 3 team has gotten the first pick more than any other since the 1990 new rules inception.

I'm quite sure both of these teams have more than one player in mind, and I'm thinking Duke standout Jahlil Okafor is one of them.

I think the Knicks have a better chance of winning one of the remaining two games and finishing with the second worst record, but given the season they have had, they could lose both. Either way they should get a good player out of a low draft pick.
