The Giants played their second preseason contest on Saturday, as they defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars, 22-12, at Metlife Stadium.

Once again the first string was lackluster in their minutes, Eli throwing the first two incomplete passes in the direction of Odell Beckham Jr.

The first squad offense gained 76 yards, but did manage to put up 3 points with a Josh Brown 51 yard field goal.

Eli was 4 for 14 with 46 yards in the air, which are terrible stats for the two time Superbowl MVP.

The biggest news is the increasing number of injuries to the team. The latest is starting safety, Bennett Jackson, who suffered a knee injury in Saturday's game and is lost for the season.

Big Blues banged up secondary includes nine players (Four cornerbacks and five safeties).

Giants fans have reason to be concerned for two big reasons. The obvious reason being the injuries to the defense, but Eli and the offense need to start putting up points, and that starts with more cohesion with his receivers.

The offensive line looks promising with Flowers and Pugh on the left side. I think they will be able to create some holes for a running game and protect the quarterback.

Big Blue kicks off the regular season on September 13th against the Dallas Cowboys, who have a talented offense and a pretty good defense.

The Giants will face their inner city rivals the New York Jets this Saturday in their third preseason game.
