When I think of the ultimate rock band the group Boston comes to mind, when their debut album was released in 1976 most of us had never heard this type of sound, it was like the Angels formed a band ascended from Heaven and came to play for us.

Perfect vocals with spot on harmonies, guitars complete with angelic riffs and keyboard riffs that blew your mind with musical masterpieces like ‘More Than A Feeling’  ‘Peace Of Mind’ ‘Rock and Roll Band’ and ‘Long Time’ making this the best selling debut album of all time, peaking at number 3 on the Billboard Top 200 and remaining on the charts for 132 weeks.

Tom Scholz was the mastermind behind the bands sound and its success ( he played every instrument on the demo except for the drums) and bringing Brad Delp into the band sealed their legacy as one of the greatest rock bands in history.

The first two albums were the best and most memorable, I remember the first time I heard ‘Boston’ and yes it was right here on 991 The Whale!

All songs written and composed by Tom Scholz, except "Smokin'", co-written with Brad Delp, and "Let Me Take You Home Tonight" written by Brad Delp.
