Originally recorded for the Beatles classic album, 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band', and written by McCartney and Lennon, this song was banned by the BBC because it was thought to be about the drug, LSD.

Elton John recorded his version in November of 1974 with John Lennon on backing vocals (under the name Dr. Winston O'Boogie a pseudonym). Elton’s version spent two weeks at number one in January of 1975.

Check out this week's ‘Got Ya Covered Video of the Week’, Elton John's ‘Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds’ as well as the original version by The Beatles.
