If you can't be number one, number two isn't really so bad.

That's the number reached on the US singles chart for Foreigner's Double Vision on November 18th, 1978, where it stayed for two weeks before dropping back down.

What was the song that prevented Double Vision from the glory of the number one spot? Donna Summer's MacArthur Park. Must be music fans at that time were more concerned with leaving the cake out in the rain, rather than seeing double vision. Regardless, the song scored gold status.

Mick Jones and Lou Gramm penned the song the comes from the album of the same name. The song and album title apparently came about over incidences in professional hockey, although there are conflicting stories.

Either way, let's take a look at Double Vision as performed by Foreigner in concert  for this week's Classic Rock Pick!
