There are those people who will depute the existence of global warming, despite the scientific information that proves our planet is getting warmer.

Our dependence on fossil fuels is filling the atmosphere with carbon dioxide and other pollution. Science points to changes in the earth’s temperature, causing major effects to wildlife, droughts, increased storm intensity, and rising sea levels.

I didn't want to hear this, but Americans are a big part of the problem. Although, we only make up 4% of the planet's population, we create one quarter of the pollutions responsible for the global warming phenomenon.

There have been some regulations put into place, including car emissions, manufacturing and power plants, and the introduction of more efficient appliances such as LED lighting.

Americans have been recycling for many years, a practice that has reduced the nation’s landfills.

One of big problems with reducing the amount of pollution for Americans is our entitled way of life, and I am just as guilty as my fellow citizens.

Clearly reducing emissions on a volunteer basis is not doing it and we don’t have enough laws into place to make a difference. Reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and creating cleaner energy is where we need to start.
