Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]The New York State Department of Transportation Motor Carrier Truck Inspectors are partnering with Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies to reduce commercial vehicle crashes.

The combined team conducted details recently issuing over a dozen summonses for safety violations.

Issues found at an August 22 detail on State Highway 10 in the Town of Hamden included unsecured loads and packages, defective brakes and driving without a Commercial Driver License.  One vehicle was taken out of service due to serious defects and was towed from the scene.

Friday, inspectors conducted a detail on State Highway 23 in the Town of Davenport and found violations and defects in six commercial vehicles that were all taken out of service due to safety concerns.  One passenger vehicle was also ticketed for no inspection and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
