Every year at this time, I get invited to a friend's house down in Pennsylvania for a Halloween party. Last year Chris and I dressed up as pirates and went to my friend Joe's house for the party. I used to work with Joe years ago when I worked at a restaurant in Carbondale, and we've remained close friends. Actually, I knew Joe before I worked with him from playing Little League with him.

Last year we went and we hung out and had an awesome time. In fact, that picture above of Chris and me, was taken at his party last year. I knew a lot of the people that were at the party from both high school and the restaurant that Joe and I work at together. We had a great time sitting around a huge bonfire outside drinking and laughing our asses off telling stories of days gone by.

I was hoping to be able to go down to the party again this year. Joe was taking precautions due to Covid 19, like we all had to wear masks, maintain social distancing, and Joe was planning on having plenty of hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes around.

But now that Governor Cuomo has told New Yorkers not to travel to Pennsylvania unless it's absolutely necessary, I don't think going down in hanging out with friends would fall into that bucket. Even though it's not that far down 81 in P.A., I'm not going to go.

Maybe I can get Joe to set up his laptop and we can partake in the party via Zoom. Chris and I can dress up at our house in Endicott, make some food for ourselves, and drink in front of the laptop while laughing at everybody else at the party having a good time. It won't be the same, but it's the next best thing to being there, right?
