The original was constructed and tailored by Lennon and McCartney for Ringo Starr to sing on the 1967 Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band LP.

The original name of the song was titled 'Badfinger Boogie and the cheering in the beginning was taken from the Beatles legendary Hollywood Bowl concert.

The song transitioned from the title track of the album, and even though it was never released as a single, many radio stations including 991 the Whale play both songs together.

It is also notable that the song was never released as a single.

It was later recorded and sung by Peter Frampton for the 1978 movie of the same name.

One of my favorite cover versions of this song comes from the 1969 Woodstock performance by the legendary Joe Cocker
