An assembly and packing facility that employs developmentally disabled people in the Binghamton area is shutting down.

ACHIEVE says 30 professional employees at locations in Johnson City and Owego could be let go and clients moved into other programs as Country Valley Industries is to close in the fall.

The group has filed with the New York State Department of Labor saying layoffs will come June through September.

New York State has been looking to move people out of organized programs and into mainstream society.
