Authorities say 41-year-old Darwin Stickle of Kingsley Avenue was charged with assault, criminal mischief and DWI. He also was charged with reckless driving, endangering the welfare of a child and leaving the scene of an accident.

According to the Cortland County Sheriff's Office, Stickle was arrested last week in connection with a series of incidents that occurred in January.

Investigators say Stickle was injured when the vehicle he was driving smashed into gas pumps at a Kwik Fill store on Route 13 in Cortlandville. He was treated at a Syracuse hospital.

Officials say before the crash, Stickle had been involved in a dispute at a nearby residence.

After the dispute, Stickle allegedly sped off in a vehicle, striking a family member and hitting a porch at a residence. He then is said to have driven across Route 13 and crashed into fuel pumps at the convenience store.

The person hit by the vehicle sustained a leg injury.

Stickle was arraigned in Cortlandville town court and released on his own recognizance.
