From time to time, we get requests for some songs in our massive Classic Rock library, that you don't hear too often. Maybe they weren't a mainstream rock hit, or for whatever reason, didn't get mainstream exposure when it was released.

That could be the case for the song Copperhead Road from Steve Earle, so we like to educate the masses on great tunes like this, just in case. For those of us who love Rock-n-Roll, we know all about this song. For those of you who may not, it is the title track of the album by the same name.

The album came out in the fall of 1988, and has a country rock kind of feel to it and is all about moonshine. Ah, moonshine...the nectar of eye-popping alcohol. I could use some right now. The song did make it on the rock singles chart but did not get on the top 100 mainstream singles charts.

For this week's Classic Rock Pick, take a moment to enjoy this video of Steve Earle performing Copperhead Road a couple of years ago.
