The Binghamton Rumble Ponies season came to an end Saturday night in Trenton. The Thunder beat the boys from Binghamton three games to one in the best-of-five series.

With that being said, I want to congratulate The Rumble Ponies and Owner John Hughes, on a great inaugural season. The Rumble Ponies finished with the second best record in franchise history. Even though they didn't win the championship, the New York Mets future is pretty bright with all the talent they have right here in Binghamton, not to mention Las Vegas and their other minor league properties.

Pitcher Corey Oswalt wrapped up his first season in the double A with a 2.28 era. The lowest among qualified starters in the eastern league. Oswald was mid season and postseason All-Star in addition to earning The Eastern League Pitcher of the Year honors.

There were a lot of thrilling come-from-behind victories this year. Plus all the improvements made to NYSEG Stadium this year, truly make it a very enjoyable season.

If we have most of this team back next year I think Trenton will be in for a rude awakening. Meanwhile get ready to rumble again in April
