The report says the City needs to protect against cybersecurity threats and doesn’t have mechanisms to properly monitor information coming in and going out about its water supply.  City officials have indicated that putting tighter controls on public disclosure of water department information may limit information about system issues currently released to the media.

Recommendations include updating computer systems and training for workers in monitoring the technology.  The report also points to a need for updated software patches and better computer backup procedures.
