Plans for this year's Community Thanksgiving Dinner are the subject of the weekly local public affairs show Southern Tier Close Up.

Binghamton High School advisor Larry Kassan and High School Senior, Avia Hailey talk about their experiences at past dinners as well as opportunities for individuals and businesses to help put on this year's 22nd annual dinner.

Hailey, who is vice president of the Honor Society, chairs the decorating committee. She says her favorite part of serving at the dinner is interacting with those attending, especially talking to the children.

Kassan says shuttle buses will be running from four locations in the City of Binghamton to get people to the dinner Thanksgiving Day.

Dinner is served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. November 23 in the school's two cafeterias.

Donations of any size can be made payable to BHS Thanksgiving Dinner and sent to BHS- Thanksgiving Dinner, 31 Main Street, Binghamton, New York 13905, Attention Stephen Giannini-BHS Honor Society.

Table sponsorships are $250 dollars with the donor's name and/or logo displayed at the table.

Southern Tier Close Up can be heard Sunday at 6 am on 99.1 The Whale.
