I just read a study from the University of Minnesota that comfort foods lifting your spirits are a myth. I call B.S.! I should know... I use comfort food.

Here's why I say their study is wrong with a capital W, they work for me. I bet they work for you too.

For example, when I am sick and I need a pick me up, I like to think of my Mom. The best way to do that is to cook up either cream of wheat or soft boiled eggs. I do and it takes me back to when she would spoil me when I was sick. And I feel better.

When my dad was battling cancer, I made him a special meal we used to eat as a family during Lent: creamed eggs on toast. He was ecstatic.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that if the comfort food is not prepared in a home environment, then it wouldn't work as well. The thing about comfort food is the main ingredient was love. Scientists can't recreate that, but  I can.

Scientists don't know and can't prove everything. Just look at the recent bacon and diet soda 'flip flopping." Screw what they say, if a food makes you feel better, eat it!
