Binghamton knows how to celebrate heritage and holidays. There was no doubt about that when the Columbus Day parade and Tournament of Bands stepped off yesterday morning.

In it's 54th year, the parade and Italian festival is a staple of the culture in the Southern Tier. What better way to celebrate Italian heritage? Over a thousand people flocked to downtown Binghamton to take part or be spectators.

The bands are always fantastic and this year was no different. The Johnson City High School marching band was particularly eye catching as their color guard members were dressed as witches!Johnson City walked away with the prize for being bet overall band in class A.
