An example of how every vote counts is manifesting itself in a couple local races.

A count of absentee ballots in the race for the 7th District Binghamton City Council contest that separated incumbent Democrat Jason MacGregor from Republican Thomas Scanlon by one vote on election night has been decided with Scanlon victorious by 21 votes.

Binghamton Mayor Richard David issued a statement saying he looks forward to working with Councilman Scanlon and he commended Councilman MacGregor for a hard-fought race and his support for many city inititaves.

In Windsor, Robert West, Jr. will sit as trustee, winning by ten votes.
