Your first question may be 'What is The Move?' A good question. Let's explain.

After two invitations to join 'The Move', Jeff Lynn accepted

The Move was the name of a rock band from the late 60s. Roy Wood was one of the members of the group, and he was envisioning a new band using additional instruments including cellos and violins. After two invitations to join 'The Move' , Jeff Lynn accepted. While still in the band, Roy and Jeff began working on this new band concept. It took awhile to put all the pieces together including getting the finances to make it happen . In 1971, the album 'Electric Light Orchestra' was released and April 16th, 1972 the new band had formed with the same name.

Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne and Bev Bevan were the original member of Electric Light Orchestra. Eventually, tensions mounted between Wood and Lynne, causing Roy to leave the band and Jeff taking the lead. ELO went on to be a commercial success producing 13 albums from 1971 to 2001 with several rock hits.
