Do you remember the excitement we all felt on this day in 1971? I'm talking about waiting for the local record store to open, so you could purchase an album that was just released.

The working zipper was such an awesome concept.

That album was the Rolling Stones 'Sticky Fingers.' It became the 11th studio LP for Mick and the Boys at the time, featuring 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking', 'Brown Sugar', Bitch', and my favorite, 'Wild Horses' to name a few. The cover of the album is very cool, having been designed by Andy Warhol. The working zipper was such an awesome concept. While we thought the jeans were being worn by Mick, it was not the case. Several names were rumored to be the person in those jeans, including actor Joe Dallesandro.

"Sticky Fingers' topped the album charts in the US, UK and several other countries. As for the cover, in Spain, it was changed from the jeans concept, to a can with fingers sticking out of it. For me, it just looks gross. Apparently the jeans and working zipper was too much for the country. For today's Classic Rock Throwback Thursday, take a moment to honor this awesome Rolling Stones album by enjoying a stripped down version of 'Wild Horses' from a session in 1995.
