Classic Rock Throwback Thursday – Blinded By The Light [VIDEO]

Let's hop into the time travel machine and head back to February 19th, 1977.

Now that we've landed, I hear on the radio, Bruce Springsteen's song 'Blinded By The Light.' The thing is, the song isn't being sung by the Boss. It sounds more like that band that made 'Do Wah Diddy Diddy' and ''The Mighty Quinn' famous.

It is indeed Manfred Mann's Earth Band, and they're doing a great job covering Bruce's song! As I look up the US singles chart, there it sits as the number one song in the country. There are a few changes in this version of the song, including the line from Bruce Springsteen's version - "cut loose like a deuce." The Manfred Mann version is "revved up like a deuce." Of course, everyone is asking the question "are they singing revved up like a douche?" Well, no.
