On May 7th, 1947, a future rock and roll drummer was born in Palo Alto, California.

That rocker's name is Bill Kreutzmann, and he grew up to be the drummer in a band you may have heard of - The Grateful Dead. Bill has been with the band since the beginning. During his early musical career, we was a part of a band called 'The Warlocks' which included Ron McKernan, Phil Lesh, Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir. They changed the name of the band to The Grateful Dead in 1965.

Let's wish William Kreutzmann Jr. a 69th Happy Birthday with this Classic Rock Throwback Thursday video of 'Little Red Rooster' from  a concert at Madison Square Garden in 1988.
