1985.
It was an interesting year for music.
Not sure it was the best for Rock music.

Pop music was having it's heyday with artists like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Billy Ocean, and Lionel Ritchie to name a few.
We were also in the midst of the Hair Band era.

Not that Rock didn't have some great stuff out in 1985.
We had some awesome tunes that year from the Dire Straits, John Mellencamp, John Fogerty and Bruce Springsteen.

In 1985, a movie ticket average price was $2.75, Stamps were 22 cents and $1.09 got you a gallon of gas.
The wreck of the Titanic was found, The Unabomber's first victim was murdered, Windows 1.0 was released, Compact Discs went on sale and WAAL started playing them instead of 45s and albums.
I remember our new slogan was 'Your Laser Leader.'
Well, it's sounded cool back then!

1985 sports - The 49ers beat the Dolphins 38-16 in the Super Bowl, The KC Royals won the World Series over St. Louis 4 games to 3, Villanova captured the NCAA Basketball Championship 66 to 64 over Georgetown, and in the Stanley Cup Championship round, the Oilers took it 4 games to 1 over Philadelphia.

Let's travel back to 1985 with a dose of 'Money For Nothing' from the Dire Straits.
