Classic Rock Throwback Thursday – 1979
1979, the end of a great era for music in general, that is if you forget that disco part of the decade.
There certainly were a lot of great rock songs that came out of that year.
For me 1979 was a turning point, temporarily anyway, as I left WAAL for my first run, and moved to Elmira to work in Top 40 radio.
That only lasted for a couple of years, before I realized that The Whale was where I really needed to be, but that's another story.
Back to 1979.
Gas cost 89 cents, a Sony Walkman cost 200 dollars, and the first snowboard was invented in the U.S.
Musically, we had great music pumped out from The Eagles, Journey, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Bob Seger and Eric Clapton to name a few.
Here are 10 of my favorite Rock songs to come out of 1979.
What are some of your favs?
