Let's step back to 1968 for this week's Classic Rock Throwback Thursday.

It was another year full of action during the 1960s.

The average income was $7,850.00. Wow!

Gas cost 34 cents per gallon.

Minimum wage was $1.60 per hour (wait, I only make $1.50 per hour...kidding!)

Anti-Vietnam protests continued worldwide.

President Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1968.

In the sports world of 1968:

The Winter Olympic Games were held in France.

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Oakland Raiders 33 to 14 in the Super Bowl.

Ohio State beat USC in the Rose Bowl.

Detroit beat St. Louis 4 games to 3 in the World Series.

Boston beat L.A. 4 games to 2 in the NBA finals.

UCLA won the NCAA Basketball finals over North Carolina, 78 to 55.

1968 was also the year that Steppenwolf released their first album.

The self titled LP included 'Born To Be Wild', 'The Pusher', and 'Sookie, Sookie.'
