Classic Rock Pick of the Week – T. Rex – Bang a Gong (Get it On) [VIDEO]

Let's Bang a Gong for this edition of The Whale's Classic Rock Pick of the Week!

That song from Tyrannosaurus Rex (T. Rex) peaked at number 10 in the US singles chart March 4th, 1972. In the UK, the tune did better, spending 4 weeks in the number one position. From the 1971 album 'Electric Warrior', the tune was originally titled 'Get it On', but there was already another song out with that name, so the group renamed it 'Bang a Gong'( Get it On.)

You may remember, the group Power Station covered the T.Rex song, renaming it 'Bang a Gong (Get it On') in 1985 where it hit number one on the US singles charts. For this week's Pick, let's enjoy Getting it On with T. Rex!
