One of my favorite bands from the 70's is most definitely Steely Dan.

The band consists of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker. Steely Dan formed in 1972, but before that, Fagen and Becker were together in earlier bands including The Leather Canary featuring Chevy Chase on drums. They were pretty much a cover band.

Steely Dan found fame with their debut album 'Can't Buy A Thrill' which contains the songs Reelin' In The Years, Midnight Cruiser, Dirty Work and Do It Again. 'Countdown To Ecstasy' was their follow-up album which contained one single hit - My Old School. Steely Dan's 3rd album 'Pretzel Logic' spawned the hit tune Rikki Don't Lose that Number.

For this week's Classic Rock Pick, take moment to enjoy Steely Dan performing Reelin In The Years from the show 'The Midnight Special' in 1973. Take note of the funky 70's clothes. Those are real groovy threads, man! And look even closer...I think they are actually singing live and playing their own instruments. What a concept!
