We know them from 'All The Way From Memphis' and 'All The Young Dudes' a song written by another Glam Rocker -  David Bowie. The band has had many members in the group over the years, most notably Ian Hunter and Mick Ralphs. Their most popular album was 'All The Young Dudes', which peaked at number 21 in the UK and 89 in the US.
