Classic Rock Pick Of The Week – Kiss
May 29th, 1972, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley caught a show in New York City by the 'New York Dolls' at the Diplomat Hotel, and afterward decided to form a band called 'Wicked Lester.'
That band didn't fare well, so Paul and Gene decided to put together a new band.
A search for new band members resulted in Peter Criss and later, Ace Frehley and the guys renamed the band - Kiss.
There have of course been a few changes in band members over the years - Eric Carr, Vinnie Vincent, Mark St. John, Bruce Kulick, and current members Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer in addition to Paul and Gene.
Congrats to a band that continues to rock the world!
