Question: To this date, which Bob Seger album was the only one to top the album charts in the US?

When pressed to pick a favorite, I would have to give a nod to 'The Horizontal Bop

The answer  is 'Against The Wind.' The LP achieved that honor on this day in 1980. Along with the Silver Bullet Band, the album contained a slew of great songs. They include four songs that reached inside the Top 40 singles charts. Those songs are 'Against The Wind' (no.5), 'Fire Lake' (no.6),  'You'll Accomp'ny Me' (no.14) and ''The Horizontal Bop' (no.42).

'Against The Wind' remained on top for six weeks, and achieved the honor of being certified gold. When pressed to pick a favorite, I would have to give a nod to 'The Horizontal Bop', although I'm a fan of 'Betty Lou's Gettin' Out Tonight' and 'Fire Lake.' By the way, do you remember what album was on the top of the album charts when 'Against The Wind' took over? Pink Floyd's 'The Wall.'

In honor of 'Against The Wind's' number one 35th anniversary, let's look back at the title track from a show in 1980 at the Capital Center, in Largo Maryland. Enjoy.
