Our annual Food-A-Bago food drive to benefit Broome County CHOW and families in our county ended this morning, and we thank you Whale listeners for your generosity.

Now, we are on to our next project. One that has proven to be our most popular feature of the year, Classic Rock from A to Z. Sure, we normally air this feature every year in the spring, but 2020 has been a crap year for most of us, so we thought let's do it again during the fall to maybe make what has been a challenging year, a bit easier to take.

Classic Rock from A to Z began back in the mid 90s on 99.1 The Whale. I can't remember who's idea it was, so I'll take the credit. Okay, I'll admit that it was probably a team effort with other Whale personalities and me. The important thing is that we began an idea that has been a tradition for about 25 years.

If you are a newcomer to 99.1 The Whale's Classic Rock from A to Z, it's a pretty simple concept. We play every Classic Rock in our music  library (Binghamton's largest on-air Classic Rock library), from A to Z, by title. One year, we switched it around and began with the last song in the letter Z and went backward from there. It was a challenge since we have a hard enough time getting our ABCs in order from A to Z.

And to make this awesome feature more accessible to you, we are playing all those songs in order by title from 6am to 7pm, Monday through Friday. And you can listen to Classic Rock from A to Z, on your radio at 99.1 FM, The Whale App, your smart speaker through Amazon Alexa and Google Home, plus online from The Whale website.

Settle in and enjoy Classic Rock from A to Z. It will take more than a couple weeks to get through every Classic Rock song in our music library.
