OK, I'll get this out first. I can't let go of the 2015 camping season.

Last year, weekends in October were nice, weather-wise. Warm to cool temperatures and plenty of Sun. So why not again this year? The first two weekends this month have been good.

Not this past weekend. To tell the truth, it was a weekend to clean out the camper, including food that's been in the cupboard since day one back in May. You don't realize how much stuff you buy and bring in from home, until it's time to clean it all out before winterizing the camper.

The upside, I found lots of my favorite beverages to take home, so there's that! The downside is finding enough room in my car to get it all in.

During all this, my last weekend staying at the campground, the weather turned on me. Saturday, the temps barely touched 50. Sunday, I think 43 was the high. At night, both evenings were in the 20s, causing the water to freeze in the hose attached to the camper, but thank goodness, no damage.

The weekend overnights brought frost, and Sunday brought snow. First as flurries, and then with help from the wind, it began sticking on the trees, and then the ground. The area became a Winter Wonderland. Had to come sooner or later, but I must admit, it was kind of neat to see the campground with a bit of snow for once. And once is enough.
