For this week's Classic Rock Pick, let's go back to April 6th, 1974. If I remember correctly, I was just shy of my second of a three year tour at a two year community college. Obviously I wasn't doing so well in class. More specifically, I wasn't going to class. That's another story for another time.

There are many times I wish we could whisk back in time to see things that we did not get to witness. One of those things for me are attending rock concerts and festivals from the 60s and 70s. A couple I'd love to have witnessed include Woodstock and Summer Jam at Watkins Glen.

On April 6th, 1974, California Jam was occurring at the Ontario Motor Speedway in Ontario, California. Some of the bands who took to the stage and rocked the audience included Deep Purple, The Eagles, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Black Sabbath and Rare Earth among others.

Apparently over a couple hundred thousand people showed to California Jam. Now that's one hell of a party! Let's take a brief look into the concert as Emerson, Lake & Palmer perform Karn Evil 9, 43 years ago today.
