From 1974 to 1985, David Lee Roth was rockin' with Van Halen. In 1985, he decided to release an EP titled 'Crazy From The Heat.' It contained four songs, Easy Street, Coconut Grove, Just Gigalo/I Ain't Got Nobody and California Girls.

DLR's version of California Girls almost topped the US singles chart in 1985. On March 2nd, the song cracked the top 5, but couldn't get to the number one position.

David Lee Roth's next outing included putting together a band and releasing an album titled 'Eat 'em and Smile' which has moderate success, and included the hit Yankee Rose.

For today's Classic Rock Pick, let's watch David Lee Roth at his crazy best, performing Californina Girls along with Steve Vai in 1986.
