Today I had lunch at Cafe West 46 on Seminary Ave in Binghamton, mostly known for their salads, soups and sandwiches. I absolutely love this place!! They have vegan and vegetarian options which is perfect for someone like me who isn't a huge fan of meat but don't worry, they have plenty of options with meat in them as well!

To start, I ordered the tomato basil soup which I was informed was made fresh this morning and my guest had a salad with white balsamic vinaigrette (which he claimed was "his favorite part of the meal").

We both ordered the Taste of Vegan sandwich and just to clarify, no my guest is not vegan or vegetarian, he just really likes this sandwich! The sandwich came is a whole wheat pita with peppers, eggplant,  fried zucchini, sprouts, hummus and spinach on it. The only thing that made the sandwich better was spreading the chipotle ranch sauce I got with my fries on it! The sandwich originally comes with chips but me being the french fry connoisseur I am had to get fries. And yes, they were delicious.

Both my guest and I had to get our desserts to go because we were stuffed! My chocolate chip cookie made for a great afternoon snack. I would highly recommend going to Cafe West 46 for lunch or dinner if you are in the mood for a sandwich or a great salad. Small, quaint and homey, it's the perfect place to getaway right here in the Southern Tier!

Binghamton Restaurant week ends on the 26th, this Thursday, so make sure you get out there and try some of these great restaurants right here in Binghamton! For the complete list of those venues participating, click here.
