Incoming Broome County Executive Jason Garnar says he has high hopes for the County in spite of a controversial campaign and post election push-back with the Legislature over budget amendments.

Speaking on the December 31 edition of the local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up, the Democrat says he believes he will still be able to work well with a Republican legislature and accomplish a lot for the County.

Garnar says he truly believes he still would have been elected even if a scandal involving Incumbent Republican Debra Preston's use of a Town of Conklin credit card for personal purchases had not come out just before the election.

Southern Tier Close Up can be heard Sunday at 6am on 99.1 The Whale1010.
