Spoon says she sees the library on Court Street in Binghamton continuing to evolve as a hub of the community.  Some groups already use the facility for meetings or other gatherings and a number of classes are held at the Library.  Spoon says, however, she sees the potential for more events and activities at different hours than currently entertained on Court Street.

Spoon says she has a life-long love of reading and libraries and has worked in systems in the Finger Lakes and Central New York regions for years, jumping at the chance to take on leading the Broome County library.

A number of programs and events are planned for the beginning of the year.  You can find out more about the library by visiting its website:  www.bclibrary.info.

Southern Tier Close Up is heard Sunday at 6 a mon 99.1 The Whale.
