The Broome county Administration and Finance Committees are expected to take up legislation that would amend the County Charter and Code.

Legislative Chairman Daniel Reynolds is proposing the law that he says will require greater financial reporting and transparency for the public.

The Director of the Office of Management and Budget would have to report to the Legislature every quarter on revenues, expenses, fund balance, trust account activity, capital projects, changes in county personnel and asset inventory which would include vehicles and county-owned equipment.

The Legislature would also be required to publish the reports on the County website for the public to view.

If voted out of committee, the proposal is expected to be taken up by the full Legislature at its March 15th regular meeting.
