June 1st, 1985, where were you?

I was a DJ on 99.1 The Whale, and guess what, I'm still here! If you were in Dublin, Ireland on June 1st, 1985, maybe you were heading to Slane Castle to catch the opening concert of Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band's European portion of the 'Born In The USA' tour. that concert tour began in the US, June of 1984, went through Canada, Japan Australia, Europe and back to the United States. It ended in Los Angeles in the Fall of 1985.

Steven Van Zandt did not accompany the group on this tour, but it was the first tour for Patti Scialfa, who later become the Boss's wife. The price of a ticket was 15 pounds for the show.Here's a version of 'Born In The USA' taken from the last show of the tour in Los Angeles, September 30th, 1985.
