Binghamton Zoo Gets Official Groundhog

Move over Punxsutawney Phil and Staten Island Chuck

The “Official Groundhog of Broome County.” Is coming

The official proclamation will be presented by Broome County Executive Debbie Preston on Friday January 31st at 10am on the 6th floor press room of the Broome County office building at 60 Hawley Street in Binghamton.

CJ the groundhog will be present at the press conference along with his handler who will answer any questions about the groundhog species and the American tradition of Groundhog Day.

We don’t know if CJ will have any demands for his housing at the Zoo.
