A group of Binghamton University students who develop and build vehicles for Society of Automotive Engineers competitions is getting a boost from a national auto parts chain.

Binghamton Motorsports is being awarded $6,000 by Advance Auto Parts.

The regional Vice President for the Roanoke, Virginia-based chain will be among those on campus to learn more about the local program, see where the cars are built and present the check to help the team’s efforts in SAE competitions this spring.

Binghamton Motorsports is working to compete in the mini-Baja, super-mileage and internal combustion vehicle competitions.
