Binghamton University’s Baxter The Bearcat – SUNY Mascot of the Year

Every year during March through early April, 40 New York SUNY Colleges engage in a fun competition in search of New York's favorite college mascot. It's called SUNY Mascot Madness.

Binghamton University proudly won the championship last year, and this year, were looking to become the first ever repeat champion. Voting is done online and through social media. There are five rounds, including the final 2 round. The final 4 included BU against New Paltz and Oneonta vs. Farmingdale State.

The 6 day final round pit Binghamton against their Route 88 rivals Oneonta.The lead changed hands several times, but in the end, it was a repeat win for Baxter the Bearcat besting Oneonta's Red The Dragon by almost 700 votes. Congratulations Max and Binghamton University. You've made Binghamton proud once again!
